Eye Level, a renowned global supplementary education provider with 45 years of expertise, crafts programs fostering independent problem-solving and critical thinking in children. Our acclaimed curriculum facilitates personalized instruction through self-directed learning and one-on-one coaching, catering to students primarily aged 4-16 years old.
Eye Level programs are aligned with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). Since the birth of the Eye Level programs, and their expansion across the globe, enrolments and customer satisfaction figures have continued to increase. This success is largely due to Eye Level’s commitment to operating from the core values of honesty, passion, and respect. Eye Level strives for the betterment of society through creative, sound products, and services that enrich the lives of families around the world, while inspiring pride in our own employees.
We set ourselves apart from traditional private tuition and schools by offering a genuinely personalized educational experience, focusing on individual abilities rather than age or short-term academic goals. Our approach avoids the ‘quick-fix’ tutoring model and, instead, provides long-term enrichment programs. These programs empower children to excel beyond their natural school curriculum, fostering independent learning, superior problem-solving skills, and critical thinking abilities highly sought after by universities and employers.
What distinguishes us further is our global academic rigor, coupled with adaptability to local market needs. Collaborating with partners, we ensure our curriculum remains relevant to and aligned with the local school system. We firmly believe in shouldering the responsibility of your child’s education, steering clear of the practice of outsourcing this crucial task back to parents, as seen in other workbook-based delivery models.
We are dedicated to unlocking the full potential of each student, nurturing truly independent learners. The synergy of honed study skills and comprehensive content knowledge proves to be a potent combination. Daily reports from parents and teachers consistently highlight improvements in both confidence and academic achievement through sustained Eye Level study. Our commitment to unwavering standards transcends geographical boundaries. A student proficient in any of our programs, after attending our learning center for at least 12 months, would find assessments in the Malaysian system more manageable, showcasing the lasting impact of our approach.
While we do assign homework to reinforce new skills and knowledge between classes, we strive to make this experience entirely manageable. We understand that parents want to be involved in supporting their child’s learning journey without necessarily taking on the role of the primary educator—after all, that’s why they’ve chosen us. Anticipate your child spending more time with us and less time negotiating academic tasks at home, ensuring a smoother learning experience for both students and parents.
The primary role of an Eye Level Instructor is to understand your child, closely observing their learning approach and responding to their cues. With a vast array of material, we prioritize ability-driven education over age-based instruction. In selecting work, instructors aim to challenge and stretch students, fostering independence without relying on adult assistance. Our approach focuses on building robust foundations and study skills before systematically and logically introducing new learning blocks.
Over time, children learn to utilize workbooks and one-on-one coaching effectively. While we can and do provide direct instruction, it’s viewed as a last resort rather than the initial step. Our students embody resourcefulness, resilience, and hard work, all underpinned by the understanding that they have our full support. The individualized nature of our approach shapes students in a uniquely transformative way.
At Eye Level, we dismiss the conventional notion of age as a basis for education, deeming it a flawed organizational principle. Instead, we structure our approach entirely around individual ability. This means you’ll find children working at, below, or significantly above their school level, influenced by their initial assessment and the duration of their engagement with Eye Level.
Eye Level is an individualized and customized program that allows students to study independently. The Eye Level curriculum is based on advancing a student’s skills through a series of small steps, and the booklets contain detailed descriptions and examples for the student to follow with minimal guidance. The role of an Eye Level instructor is to monitor a student’s progress so that he/she can determine the student’s readiness for upcoming topics in the curriculum and make adjustments to the lesson plan when necessary. The instructor will guide the student to learn the appropriate method, rather than teach the lesson in detail. This enables the student to take ownership of his/her learning, thereby making the impact of the student’s study more lasting.
Additional benefits of the Eye Level curriculum that may not be prominent in traditional schools:
1. Increased concentration – Students receive personal attention from an Instructor in a one-on- one environment with a small group of other students sharing the classroom. As a result, students are able to increase their concentration and progress more quickly through the concepts.
2. Mastery of Concepts through Individual Coaching – When a student enrolls in Eye Level, instructors identify the student’s individual level through implementation of and observation during the Diagnostic Test. As students study Eye Level in a one-by-one environment, instructors are able to determine individual weaknesses and provide proven study solutions and tailored review assignments when necessary to strengthen weaker skills. The result is steady, effective progress with mastery at each step along the way.
3. Parental Involvement – Parents can be actively involved in a child’s Eye Level experience by creating a supportive environment for daily study at home, through grading the child’s booklets, and through weekly interaction (and other formal conferences) with the Director.
4. Cultivation of Study Habits – Through individualized coaching within a systemized program designed to encourage independent study and achievement, students strengthen their skills and establish a routine of study and daily accomplishment.
Self-directed learning is like being the captain of your own ship when it comes to acquiring knowledge and skills. Instead of relying on traditional classroom settings or formal instruction, you take the helm and steer your own learning journey. It’s about setting your goals, finding resources, and determining the pace at which you want to learn.
Imagine you’re on a quest for knowledge, and you get to decide the route, the stops along the way, and how long you spend exploring each destination. It requires a good deal of independence, motivation, and discipline. You’re not waiting for someone to tell you what to learn; you’re choosing what you want to know and figuring out how to learn it.
The cool thing is that self-directed learning can happen anywhere and at any time. Whether you’re diving into a new book, exploring online courses, experimenting with hands-on projects, or seeking guidance from mentors, you’re in control.
The type of child that we are developing possesses the following abilities:
1. Identify problems
2. Understand the solutions
3. Weigh the cost and benefit of each solution
4. Evaluate the outcome.
However, children do not become self-directed learners overnight. This skill has to be nurtured through regular and consistent practice in a conducive self-directed learning environment.
A self-directed learner is a student who takes charge of their own learning by setting goals, working towards achieving them, and bringing an endless source of knowledge when attempting any new activities. Eye Level instructors encourage the development of self-directed learning by setting goals with students, establishing individualized lesson plans, adjusting those plans when appropriate, and providing routine academic coaching. Self-directed learning ability develops within a student over a period of time (not instantly), so the longer the student is enrolled in Eye Level, the stronger his/her self-directed learning skills will become.
At Eye Level, our students have the flexibility to attend once or twice a week, a decision left entirely to the parent or student’s preference. The structure ensures that choosing between the two options does not fundamentally impact progress or attainment. While there’s no time fixation in our approach, as we don’t prescribe set class durations or time completion metrics, we prioritize careful observation and one-on-one coaching for effective mastery determination.
A child remains in class until they’ve perfected the day’s work, with completion time varying based on factors such as the child’s age, level, ability, and duration of their Eye Level engagement. On average, once settled, a child might spend around 45 minutes per subject.
All of a child’s activities, whether at home or in class, are meticulously documented in our student dashboard within the Key and Manager application. Monthly, we assess progress against each student’s study projection, a metric diligently tracked by our Eye Level Instructors. Upon completion of each level, students undergo a Level Test. This test serves as a tool to predict and manage the transition to above-curriculum-level work.
Upon enrolment, we provide an estimated timeframe for this achievement and consistently keep you informed about your child’s progress in relation to this milestone. Feel free to request this information at any point during your journey with us.
We understand that holidays are a time to unwind and enjoy, yet we strive to maintain a relatively regular routine for our students. Our programs are designed to run throughout the entire year, totaling 52 weeks. For the majority, we provide students with the work they would have covered in class during holiday periods, offering complete flexibility to accommodate individual schedules and preferences.
Enrolling your child in Eye Level is already a significant show of support, and we appreciate your commitment. While we rely on your assistance with the logistics of study and encourage a positive and supportive environment, we don’t expect you to take on teaching, grading, or timekeeping responsibilities. We understand that as parents, your time is valuable and that’s why you’ve turned to us for help. If your child encounters challenges at home, encourage them to refer to the workbook instructions. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, they can either wait for the next class or reach out to the Center Director. We’re here to solve any problems for you. Our goal is for you to enjoy the benefits of Eye Level study without having to deliver the program on our behalf – it’s as simple as that.
The excellence of the Eye Level program eliminates the need for lengthy financial or legal commitments. We operate slightly ahead of the student in terms of planning and provision, hence we have a straightforward one-calendar-month discontinuation policy outlined in our Terms and Conditions.
Given the nature of Eye Level and its effectiveness, attending for a short period may not yield significant value. This is why our upfront comprehensive assessment is crucial. As a general guideline, one year of study makes a meaningful difference, two years lead to notable proficiency, and three years or more result in exceptional performance for their age. The majority of our students stay with us between 2 and 5 years, and transfers to other centers are possible if needed.

Since every child is unique and has a different learning pace, repetition is required to ensure that he/she achieves the necessary understanding, speed and accuracy.
According to the Ebbinghaus’ Forgetting Curve, the more we re-learn a topic, the more data we will retain.
However, repetition of booklets is assigned only when necessary, according to your child’s performance, and Instructor’s observation and understanding of his/her abilities and skills.
t Eye Level, we schedule attendance for our physical classes to ensure thorough preparation and the completion of all aspects, including individualized 1-1 coaching, on the day. We recognize that unforeseen circumstances can arise, such as illness or unexpected events affecting a child’s well-being. In such cases, we make every effort to find a suitable replacement or alternative class within the same week. If your circumstances undergo a significant change, we are more than willing to accommodate and adjust your allocated class day/time accordingly.
The free Diagnostic Test serves as an invaluable tool, providing insights into your child’s abilities while offering a deeper understanding of how the Eye Level program aligns with your educational goals. Tailored diagnostic exercises assess your child’s proficiency in arithmetic, word problems, critical thinking, grammar, comprehension, reading, and writing. Following the test, you’ll receive detailed feedback on these areas, establishing your child’s starting point on the program. We’ll also estimate the time required to achieve specific learning goals and share an initial study projection.
This comprehensive overview allows you to explore our curriculum and materials, empowering you to make an informed decision about joining the class. It’s important to note that there is no cost or ongoing obligation associated with attending an Eye Level Diagnostic Test at our center.
We often receive transfer requests from parents who express dissatisfaction with the progress, perceive the curriculum as too narrow, or are dissatisfied with the delivery model offered by other providers. Familiar with the programs of our main competitors, we aim to enhance value by acknowledging previous learning while supplementing it through our comprehensive curriculum. The most sought-after additions when transitioning to Eye Level are typically the Critical Thinking or Writing programs.
Understanding that childhood is a limited window of time, our goal is to maximize this opportunity by applying the most effective methods and curriculum available.
At Eye Level, our Instructors/Centre Director aim to work closely with our Parents and Students. Their main role is to:
* Provide clear and comprehensive feedback to both parents and students,
* Understand students’ learning needs and identify areas of improvement,
* plan and determine students’ learning progress according to their skills and abilities,
* communicate and motivate students in their learning, and
* provide clear and understandable feedback to both parents and students.
Eye Level Instructors/Centre Director do not teach; we instruct. Our booklets are designed in a way that students are able to solve their problems independently through the use of examples and skills gained from previous levels. This is the key ingredient in Self-directed Learning.
Therefore, in self-directed learning, the Instructors/Centre Director at Eye Level will provide guidance through new concepts, after which the students will learn to attempt the questions independently.
Your child’s success at Eye Level is highly dependent on several factors:
* Class Environment
* Home Study Environment
To ensure that your child receives maximum benefit from our programmes, you are encouraged to play an active role in your child’s Eye Level study by:
* monitoring your child’s learning at home and making sure that they complete the assigned homework,
* encouraging your child to make steady progress by helping them build good study habits and creating a conducive learning environment,
* ensuring your child attends classes regularly and has (continuous) practice even during holiday periods, and
* providing feedback to Instructors/Centre Director on your child’s studies.

All Eye Level Instructors have received at least some education in college and are required to complete Eye Level-specific training (provided by the franchisee or franchisor) as well as to attend ongoing online training conducted by the National Training Center. Because Eye Level encourages the development of independent learning, as experts in the Eye Level method and curriculum, instructors are able to guide the students to perform a self-initiated, directed learning through small, manageable steps. For this reason, not all Instructors are, nor do they need to be, certified teachers. They are, however, formally trained in the Eye Level method and they study our curriculum carefully in order to guide your child most efficiently through it.

Eye Level Maths and English – Support for your child

Eye Level Math is a structured mathematics programme designed to help children build strong fundamentals, think logically, and gain confidence step by step. Our approach focuses not only on learning math concepts, but also on helping students overcome math anxiety and develop positive learning habits.
Through carefully sequenced lessons and personalised pacing, students begin to experience success early. Even hesitant learners often show noticeable improvement in confidence — shifting from “I can’t do Math” to “I can solve this” within weeks.
A strong foundation in mathematics goes beyond exam results. At Eye Level, students learn to analyse problems, apply concepts, and think independently. These skills support school learning across subjects while nurturing curiosity, reasoning, and long-term problem-solving ability — skills your child will carry beyond the classroom.

Eye Level English is a structured language programme that helps children build these essential skills step by step. Through guided reading, vocabulary development, grammar practice, and writing activities, students improve their reading fluency, comprehension, and language accuracy at a pace that suits their ability.
Beyond academic results, strong literacy skills support confidence, emotional expression, and lifelong learning. While every child’s future is unique, one factor remains constant — a solid foundation in English literacy greatly increases their ability to succeed in school and beyond.

Happy Talk is our specialized conversational English program for students aged 4 to 12. While traditional learning focuses on the page, Happy Talk focuses on the person. Through a blend of immersive digital animations and personalized coaching, we guide students through real-life scenarios—from school interactions to community social skills.
The Perfect Complement to Eye Level English
Happy Talk acts as the “voice” for the literacy skills built in our core program. While Eye Level English provides the structural foundation (grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension), Happy Talk activates that knowledge. It provides the essential bridge where students take the words they’ve learned to write and begin using them to speak, ensuring they are as confident in a conversation as they are in an exam.
